BS Degree



PACE University Advanced Certificate in Emerging Telecommunications Technology

This certificate offered by Pace University addresses the needs of the experienced student who has already completed his/her associate's level education and who wants to acquire knowledge of telecom's emerging technologies through an online learning format.

Who should apply?
  • Experienced technicians and engineers currently working in the industry
  • Managers and supervisors of these areas
  • NACTEL A.S. degree program graduates
  • Verizon Next Step program graduates


What is included in the certificate?
20 credit hours in length-students choose five 4-credit-hour courses from the following:
  • Emerging Broadband Technologies (AIT 381)
  • Emerging Wireless Technologies (AIT 383)
  • Voice Over IP Technologies (AIT 382)
  • Fiber Optics (AIT 371)
  • Innovative Technologies for Complex Issues (TS 410)
  • Cases in End User Computing (TS 415)
  • Multimedia Applications (TS 313)
  • End User Information Systems (TS 333)
  • Organizational Behavior and the Virtual Enterprise (MGT 323)


What are the benefits?

  • Upon completion of the certificate, students may opt to continue for their BS degree, with certificate credits becoming part of that degree program


What is required?
Students must apply for the BS degree program, and fulfill the same requirements, including:
  • Successfully earned 60-64 college credits with a minimum QPA of 2.5.
  • Completion of English 110, Computer Applications, Technical Math and AC/DC Electrical Circuits, or the equivalent.
  • Graduates of the NACTEL Associate's Degree program are automatically eligible.
  • Next Step graduates must complete one additional Gen Ed course during their first semester.
  • Students must have at least 3 years of full time experience or the equivalent.
  • Students must submit all previous college transcripts.


What certificate will I earn?
Upon successful completion of this 20-credit hour program, graduates will receive an Advanced Certificate in Emerging Telecommunications Technologies from Pace University of White Plains, NY. For a listing of the courses required and a breakdown of credits, check the Certificate Details

How long does the program take to complete?
Students who meet the above qualifications can expect to complete the certificate program in about one year, on a part-time basis.
