Networking Technologies - Jump Start



"Jump Start Courses" in Broadband Essentials

PACE UniversityThe 'jump start' courses are the first step in the Pace Networking Technologies curriculum. These courses are designed to provide a quick broad-brush overview to operating systems, internet browsers, TCP/IP routers and networking and, are comprised of the following courses:
AIT 103 (1 credit) Online Seminar (required of all online students), and
AIT 109 (4 credits) Broadband Essentials

The courses are offered by fully accredited Pace University, can be used as either a stand-alone credential, or can be folded into the next two certificates: Introduction to Broadband followed by Networking Essentials, and later, the A.S. Degree, Networking Technologies. Students can choose to stop at any step along the way, or continue to complete the degree depending on their goals and needs.

Who should apply?
This program is open to people interested in acquiring a quick overview to the broadband telecommunications technologies and who:

  • Have a high school diploma
  • Cannot attend a traditional college program
  • Want to prepare for entry level broadband technician jobs in the industry
  • Want to understand the very basics of broadband technology

What will I learn?
The courses provide students with an overview of broadband technologies which students can use as a free -standing credential or, as the first step in the Networking Technologies curriculum.

How long do these courses take to complete?
These courses are offered in an accelerated semester format; students can complete both in about 15 weeks.

When can I apply?
