Wireless Networking Technologies



PACE UniversityThe A.S. Degree in Applied Information Technology, Wireless Networking Technologies track prepares students for many technical positions in the telecommunications industry. It provides students with an understanding of all aspects of the most current wireless networking technologies. This emphasis area is built on a comprehensive core of telecom and broadband technology courses. The program is transferable into Pace University's Accelerated B.S. degree program (2 years) as well as traditional 4-year degree programs.

The degree program builds on the knowledge gained in the Introduction to Broadband Certificate, followed by the Certificate in Wireless Networking Essentials, and gives students a solid foundation in the emerging technologies of the telecommunications industry.

Who should apply?
This program is open to people interested in learning the networking and operating system aspects of the emerging telecommunications technologies and who:

  • Have a high school diploma
  • Cannot attend a traditional college program
  • Want to prepare for technical jobs in the industry
  • Want to expand their knowledge of the technical aspects of the industry

What will I learn?
The A.S. degree, Wireless Networking Technologies track provides a background in telecom and broadband essentials, operating systems, wireless LANs, wireless network security, and technical communications. At the completion of the A.S. degree program, students will have:

  • the ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems as well as document and communicate technical information;
  • enhanced computer hardware and software knowledge and skills;
  • enhanced computer networking knowledge and skills;
  • hands-on experience with telecommunications technology.

What degree will I earn?
At the successful completion of this 64-credit program, graduates will receive the Associate of Science in Applied Information Technology, Wireless Networking Technologies from Pace University. For a listing of the courses required and a breakdown of credits, review the degree details.

How long does the program take to complete?
Assuming most students are also working full-time, the program can take about 2.5 years to complete.
