Who should apply?
This program is open to people interested in learning the networking and operating system aspects of current telecommunications technologies and who:
- Have a high school diploma
- Cannot attend a traditional college program
- Want to prepare for technical jobs in the industry
- Want to expand their knowledge of the technical aspects of the industry
What will I learn?
The Telecommunications track provides the fundamentals of telephony, solid state circuits, digital and microprocessor fundamentals, DSL, computer applications, communications and math, as well as the basics of the industry's emerging technologies. At the completion of the A.S. degree program, students will have:
- the ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems as well as document and communicate technical information;
- enhanced computer hardware and software knowledge and skills;
- enhanced computer networking knowledge and skills;
- hands-on experience with telecommunications technology.
The degree program builds on, and includes, the: Intro to Telecommunications Certificate and the Telecommunications Essentials Certificate.
What degree will I earn?
At the successful completion of this 64-credit program, graduates will receive the Associate of Science in Applied Information Technology, Telecommunications from Pace University. For a listing of the courses required and a breakdown of credits, check the A.S. Degree Details.
How long does the program take to complete?
Assuming most students are also working full-time, the program can take about 2.5 years to complete.
When can I apply?
