AS Degree



PACE UniversityThis A.S. in Applied Information Technology degree program, taught completely online by fully accredited Pace University, prepares students for many technical positions in the telecommunications industry. Students may choose to pursue the Telecommunications, Networking or Wireless Networking Track, depending on their needs and career goals.

·  Video Technologies track (NEW!) – prepares students to install, maintain, and manage the telecom industry’s emerging technologies and “triple play” product offerings. The Video Technologies track is built upon, and includes the following embedded certificates:

·  Wireless Networking Technologies track – provides students with an understanding of all aspects o fthe most current wirelss networking technologies. The Wireless Networking track is built upon, and includes the following imbedded certificates:

·  Telecommunications track – provides students with an understanding of circuit switched networking, including DSL, built on copper landlines. The Telecommunications track includes the following imbedded certificates:

·  Networking Technologies track – provides students with an understanding of the packet switched networking and includes Broadband and Entertainment technologies, built on fiber optic cables. The Networking track is built upon, and includes the following imbedded certificates and courses:

The Applied Information Technology major core courses in electrical circuits, signal and data transmission and emerging telecommunications technologies are a required foundation for both tracks.

The Associate's degree program, comprised of 64 credits, is transferable into Pace University's Accelerated B.S. degree program, a 2 year program, as well as traditional 4-year degree programs.
