Introduction to Broadband Certificate

PACE UniversityThe Introduction to Broadband Certificate introduces students to basic networking concepts, including math, computing, communications, electronics and basic broadband essentials. This certificate is designed as a follow up to the "Jump Start" courses and is offered by fully accredited Pace University. The certificate can be used as either a stand-alone credential, or, along with the Broadband Essentials Certificate, can be folded into the A.S. Degree, Networking Technologies. Students can choose to stop at any step along the way, or continue to complete the degree depending on their goals and needs.

Who should apply?
This program is open to people interested in learning the fundamentals of current broadband telecommunications technologies and who:

  • Have a high school diploma
  • Cannot attend a traditional college program
  • Want to prepare for entry level broadband technician jobs in the industry
  • Have completed Broadband Essentials (AIT 109)
  • Want to understand the basics of Broadband technology

What will I learn?
The courses provide students with the foundational concepts needed for a basic level of understanding of the broadband and networking technologies, including AC/DC circuitry, broadband essentials, technical math, computer applications for telecommunications and business and technical communications.

What certificate will I earn?
At the successful completion of this 20* credit hour course of study, students will receive the Introduction to Broadband Certificate from Pace University. For a listing of the courses required and the breakdown of credits, see the Intro to Broadband Certificate Details.

How long does the program take to complete?
Assuming most students are studying part-time, the program can be completed in one year.
