About Us
NACTEL, The National Coalition for Telecommunications Education and Learning, is a unique partnership of major
telecommunications companies and labor unions established for the purpose of creating online learning programs to
address critical employment needs in the telecommunications industry.
NACTEL met for the first time in 1997 and today is a 501c3 non-profit organization with Industry Partners that include:

Communications Workers of America (CWA)
Frontier Communications
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)
Qwest Communications
Verizon Communications
Together the NACTEL partner organizations represent nearly 2 million telecommunications workers.
The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) was instrumental in convening NACTEL and today serves as
the organization's project administrator and fiscal agent. Initial funding for this project was provided by the Alfred P. Sloan
Foundation.
NACTEL Programs
Each NACTEL educational program is carefully developed to:
- Deliver content that is current and of value across the telecommunications industry
- Offer meaningful credentials, including academic credit, recognized certificates, and degrees
- Rely heavily on subject matter experts within the industry
- Link directly to jobs in the industry

NACTEL is an international program available anywhere the Internet is accessible.
